Scope of Works: Drainage – Public and Private Stormwater and Wastewater

This project involved the construction of a new base-build warehouse for Cotton On, featuring an adjoining office. The details of the structures are as follows:

• Warehouse: 17,000 m²
• Office: 800 m²
• MHE: 400 m²
• Warehouse Office: 30 m²
• Enclosed Canopy: 2,700 m²
• Loading Canopy: 600 m²
• Yards: 1,428 m²
• Sprinkler Valve Room and Transformer Installation Area

Scope of Work

Our scope of work included installing new stormwater and sewer lines, including new threshold perimeter drains. Pipe dimensions ranged from 100 mm to 600 mm in diameter, utilizing both PVC and concrete pipes. The project posed challenges due to the simultaneous construction of the building and our drainage works, necessitating close coordination with other trades to ensure that our timeframes were met.

Key Challenges and Solutions

• Coordination with Other Trades: We maintained constant communication with the client and other trades to ensure the job progressed smoothly despite the concurrent construction activities.
• Unforeseen Obstructions: During excavation, we encountered an existing concrete plate. To avoid delays, we consulted with the client and decided to use a breaker to continue the excavation without stalling progress.

The project was completed on time and within budget, demonstrating our commitment to efficiency and effective collaboration.
